Patrice Mégret is full professor of electrical engineering in the University of Mons where he is head of the Electromagnetism and Telecommunication Department. He has 25 year of experience in the photonic field where his main research interests are in the metrology of components and telecom systems with emphasis on optical transmission quality. He is author and co-author of 8 books chapters, more than 600 publications in journals and conference proceedings and has supervised 20 PhD theses. He has also been active in 50 research contracts with industry as well as with EC and regional and federal Belgian agencies.
