A platform for collaboration between Walloon research and industry players
The CYBER Factory is a software factory. This hardware and software platform is used on Win4Excellence projects to promote the exchange of technological building blocks and methodologies for introducing new processes. The Factory is also a place for disseminating research results.
The CYBER Factory has the following major objectives:
1. Increase productivity by creating an environment conducive to the development and testing of technological contributions ("software bricks") produced by researchers from Win4Excellence project partners, in the form of a common software and hardware infrastructure and operationalization tools.
2. Improve the maturity and quality of software bricks developed by researchers, for example through the application of Dev(Sec)Ops methods that integrate good development, operations and security practices.
3. Involve all research players in the innovation process by facilitating access to each other's results. In concrete terms, this is achieved by improving the transfer and appropriation of software bricks and by disseminating know-how around technological tools, in particular to industrial players.
4. Respond to current and future challenges facing the socio-economic fabric by focusing applied research on major collective challenges, and by making the corresponding key technologies resulting from this research available in the Factory.
5. Contribute to maximizing the impact of research in Wallonia, Brussels and internationally, by widely disseminating the advances made by project participants.
Showroom
The "visible" part of the platform, designed to disseminate information
and animating the community of players. It contains :
SOFTWARE AND METHODOLOGIES
They can take the form of descriptions, demonstrators, scientific articles that have led to the production of software bricks, articles, blogs, and so on.
PROFILES OF TECHNICAL EXPERTS
Researchers from the project's partner universities and research centers. Each institution is divided into sub-research units.
SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES
References to scientific articles published by academics and leading to the production of software bricks.
SERVICE OFFERS
Possible service offers concerning expertise or requests for access to infrastructures for companies.
Core Factory
The software engineering part of the software
factory. It contains :
METHODS
Methods to facilitate the development and operation of software bricks, in the form of documentation, guides and examples. These methods are based on the DevSecOps approach, which aims to accelerate the production of high-quality, secure software.
TOOLS AND SERVICES
Tools and services to support these methods, such as services for orchestrating the continuous integration and deployment of bricks, observability, version management of source code and artifacts, testing, etc.
